Application to be an Ambassador in 2015

This term we have been learning about Art Attack. I have been learning about Aboriginal Art. Did you know that Aboriginal art comes from Australia.  The Paint that they use to make Aboriginal Art was made out off soil and bark.


I created a Aboriginal art using Paint and cotton buds. First I had to draw a Picture. Then I  dip the cotton buds into paint and put it on the out line of my Picture. You have to keep doing it until it is finish.


I share It to my blog so people can see what  i have been doing this year.  

Space paragrah writing

The satellite is spinning as slow as it can. A rock is coming for the satellite really slowly. As the rock is coming for the satellite really slowly.  5 people decided to come and save the satellite from the rock. But It was too late. All the satellite parts from all broken. That means No TV for the people in Earth. People in Earth will not be happy because there is no power. Also there will no be phones and tablets and Ipads

What did The Victorians Eat?

In Class 7 we are learning about the Victsorian Era. Alla and me doing a presentation. Here is a presentation about what the victorians ate. 

British Empire map

We have been reading about the Victorian Age. We found out that children used to learn which countries were part of the British Empire by looking on a map. All of the countries in the British Empire were red or pink. I have highlighted the countries in the British Empire during the Victorian Era in red or pink.

Going to the Museum

On Thursday classes 6, 7 and 8 went to the Museum on the bus. We went there so we can learn about maori things.

We Were learning about maori food.
We were with george he was teaching us the haka for the parts of the body.
We were teaching the others the haka.


My favorite part was the volcano room.
Classes 6 and 7 went into Volcano room we were watching TV and BOOM!!! The house was shaking. The kids were screaming so so loud.


I felt so happy because we went to the Museum. I wish we could go there again.

creative writing

Today in class we have been doing creative writing. We had to write a sentence about this picture. As a class we chose the sentence we liked to best and then added to it. Here is my sentence and the sentence I added to.

In the spring I was sitting in the middle of an Oak tree.


Under the oak tree,kicked back by the beach from a view,chill going down your spine, the bright sun light on you.   I can feel myself on a beach relaxing in the sun. I can hear the water going swith.

We have been learning to use full stops and capital letters. I have edited the full stops and capital letters.

Cross country

On a hot sunny day Pt England school had cross country. We all dressed up in our house colours I was in the green team and then had a little play. The 12:45 bell went and we all ran to class and took off our shoes and went to the counts.

When we got there we had a prayer to bless the day.
The race had  started and the year 1 girls got ready to run. Mr Burt said on your marks!! Get Set!! and use the clapper and off they went. Next the year 1 boys got ready to run.

I was waiting for all the year groups. Finally the year 5
girls got called out by Mr Jacobsen. We went to the start line and the clapper went and we all ran.

At the end the year 8 girls went. I felt happy because I tried my best.

Continents

Continents are a huge groups of land.
There are 7 continents. The 7 Continents are north America, South America, Asia, Europe, Antarctica, Australia and Africa
Australia is the smallest continents.
Australia Comprises a land about 7.692 million square ,
kilometers. Australia is the planet's 6th’s largest countries after Russia, Canada, China and more.

In my reading group we a reading a book called sunday maket. It is about a woman making her own fram and albums and seling it at the makets. I drew this because it is importaint to my culture.

Use my brain, use my heart, I'm going to be Cybersmart means doing the right thing with your netbook, IPad and Computers. Mr Burt made it up so it can help people by doing the right thing.

Use my brain means like if you do the wrong thing then listen to your brain. For Example i'm on my netbook and i feel like going on a picture without anyone look on my screen and I think about it.

Use my heart mean how you feel about it.  For example you're on a site and you think about how you feel and if you don't feel right then don't go on it.

Cyber smart means doing the right thing. I think this is important because it will help you do the right thing  instead of doing the  Wrong thing. For example i'm on a computer and I have to be Cybersmart.

Use my brain, use my heart,  i'm going to be cybersmart will help you do the right thing every time and everywhere. Enjoy My writing.

Onomatopoeia

An Onomatopoeia is a word that makes a sound.
One Onomatopoeia is meow because that is the sound a cat makes.
I have been reading a book called hangi.
It has onomatopoeia words in it.
There it an example off what is a onomatopoeai is. 

Pigs and Ducks Problem

First I drew  11 pigs then I add 2 legs to each. The first 3 pigs i added 2 more legs. So there are 3 Pigs and 8 Ducks.

Made up game

Gymnastics skating is a made up game. The person that made up this game is Sulieti from Auckland, New Zealand.
The aim of the game is to do as many tricks as you can.

The equipment you need are skating shoes and gymnastics uniform.
It is held in indoors. It is held indoors because the ice might melt outside.



Each skater will have 2 minutes to do as many trick as they can.When the 2 minutes is up they must skate over to the special box on the side where their team mates are waiting and tag them for their turn.

About Netball?

Whats is netball?

Netball is a game that involves two teams.They use a ball to see who gets it in the hoop. The most that gets it in the hoop they will win.

How to play?
In netball you need a position it is GD, GA,GS,WA,WD,GK.  You only have 1 hour to play netball on the court. To get the ball in the goal you have to throw the ball over the hoop.

What are the rules of netball?
The rule of netball is never travel with the ball.  There are only 7 players in each team. You can’t hit the ball off a player because that is called a contact.

World war 2

On a Monday Morning we went to Assemble Mr Burts was talking about how his Grandad and Mrs Flavell Grandad went to World War 1. It was Today because that's  when they left to go to the War. Mr Burt had a talk about how they went to World War l and died. He showed us a video off his Grandad and Mrs Flavell Grandad.
We saw how there was no trees and no plants in the War.
They were fighting because a man from the other team killed the man that died. We are lerning about World War 1 and 2

My Holiday highlight

Last Tuesday my mum, my cousin Ofa and I went to Sylvia  Park on the train. We were going to have some fun. Mum said “let’s go to the movies and watch Transformers.”

The ride on the train was bumpy as and I nearly fell off my chair. My cousin laughed at me and I got angry at him. It was not a good start to the day. Finally the train stopped at the Sylvia Park station, I was feeling really excited because we had arrived. We walked toward the movie theatre. There were heaps of people waiting in line and just standing around waiting. We went to buy the tickets and at the same time we got our popcorn, lollies and drinks.

We went into the cinema and waited for the movie to come on the big screen. I was over the moon when it  finally started. During the movie there was lots of fighting between the Autobots (the good guys) and the Decepticons (the bad guy). My favorite part of the movie was when Optimus prime and Megatron were fighting. I liked this part because there was lots of action. I was feeling nervous that the good guys were going to lose. Finally the Decepticons were beaten and the Autobots had won.

When the movie was finished we look around the shops before we went in the train.

Sank by a Whale

In 1820 there was a ship called Essex.

It was traveling to the Pacific Ocean
so they can hunt for whales.

The whales name was Moby Dick.
It was 32 meters long it was bigger the the ship. He Hit his Head on the side of the ship 2 time and a lot of water filled the ship and it sank.

They Had to kill the young boy Owen Coffin. They were Hungry so they kill Owen because they had no food or a drink. There were only 20 people in the ship that Survived.

Dear Icelanders

Whaling

Whaling is when people hunt for whales and kill them so they can take the meat,oil and also bones. They eat fish, seals, caribou and whale meat for people. The people have to put the meat into the six containers and sent it from Germany to Japan.

When the ship got stronger they killed more whales. They use bones so they can use it for decorations, women's clothing.  Whale oils are use for soaps and lighting.

Pacific to Tasman seaplane Tour

The sea planes are for the planes that goes in the water.
This tour is going from Auckland to small Island.
I would want to go to Pacifc to Tasman because it looks nice.
The Pacifc to Tasman cost $470 perpson.
The Tour takes 70 mins filghts and the total duration is 90 mins.

About My Mum and Nana

I  got a mum she is so kind hearted to me and a lovely person. She is always there for me all the time. My mum loves to go to church on Sundays but some time she has to go to work. She would always take care of me when i was little until now,that why i love her.



My Nana is a lovely person she would always buy me gifts on my Birthday and Christmas. She is special to me and my mum because she is my dad mum. She took me to rainbow’s end and also rarotonga. I always love her because she took care of me when i was little.

About my half Sister Dayna

I have got a Half sister and she is older than me and my half brother. Her name is Dayna and she is 19 and a half.

I love her so much because she is a loving,caring and also a kind sister. When we were at Rarotonga we went to coco pops's where they had minigolf. Me and my sister were having a race to see who won and she won.

Sink or float?

Going to Rarotonga

On Saturday I went to Rarotonga with my family because we had to take my papa's ashes back. When I got there I felt so happy to see all the family there. I went swimming there and the water was just so warm and nice also I went paddle boarding when I first tried it I fell off it. Then we went to Te Vara    Nui Village for dinner and they had are show there all boys and girls were dancing. My favourite part was going to Te Vara Nui Village and eating there.
